Since 2005, BeeVisual®, LLC has been a family-run company helping children communicate, understand their feelings, and develop independence through picture-based supports. What began as a hands-on physical tool became the Choiceworks® app for iPad® and iPhone® in 2012, earning a Gold Stevie® Award for Best Mobile App that same year. Today, Choiceworks® and Choiceworks® Calendar are used around the world in homes, schools, and clinics.
Founder Michele Walker, MS in Applied Educational Psychology, created Choiceworks after years of working with children and caregivers. The very first schedule was inspired by her son Matt. Today she builds the apps alongside her sons: Matt, a co-developer with a degree in psychology, and Luke, who creates the audio for all the apps and helps shape the user experience while pursuing an advanced degree in psychology. In 2025, Michele was honored with a Silver Stevie® Award as Most Resilient Female Leader.
